Health Ministry, UNDP sign agreement on medicine supplies worth UAH 620 mln

Ukraine's Health Minister Alexander Kvitashvili signed an agreement with the UNDP on the supply of medicines worth UAH 620 million on October 27.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, under the agreement Ukraine will be supplied with drugs under state programs, particularly drugs to treat and diagnose tuberculosis, HIV-AIDS, hemophilia, and hepatitis B and C.

According to the document, payment for the contract will be made on November 15. All the funds will be transferred to the UNDP in the hryvnia.

According to UNDP Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Neal Walker, "the UN organizations will try to fulfill all the obligations to supply medicines as quickly as possible."

In addition, Kvitashvili said that the ministry received the final wording of the contract for medicines supply with Crown Agents worth UAH 750 million on October 27

According to him, an agreement worth UAH 800 million will be signed with UNICEF.

In general, international organizations will receive UAH 2.197 billion for purchases, the minister said.
