Court arrests members of sabotage group planning attack before Independence Day – prosecutor's office

Kyivsky District Court of Kharkiv has chosen restrictive measures for members of a sabotage group which was planning a terrorist attack to take place before Independence Day, the press service of the prosecutor's office in Kharkiv region has reported.

According to the report, a 39-year old resident of the region that was detained immediately after placing explosives on the Kharkiv-Kupiansk railway line. The detained received a notice of suspicion under Part 2, Article 15, and Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (finished sabotage attempt). The court ruled to hold him in detention without the possibility of bail.

His friend, an employee of the State Border Guard Service, is incriminated in aiding and abetting sabotage. He has also been detained without the possibility of bail.

The third member of the group who had stored the ammo for his friends was accused of storing ammo, explosives or detonators without proper permission as foreseen by the law. The court ruled to detain him and set bail at UAH 100,000.
