The withdrawal of heavy armaments from the line of contact between the warring sides in southeastern Ukraine is due to begin no later than the second day of the ceasefire and must be completed within 14 days.

The requirement is set in a package of measures towards the implementation of the Minsk agreements signed at the Contact Group on Thursday.

The document said that the OSCE supported by the Trilateral Contact Group would be fostering that process.

Consistent with the package, the OSCE shall provide effective monitoring and verification of the ceasefire and heavy arms' withdrawal since the very first day of their withdrawal.

The monitors will be using every technical instrument they may need, such as satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, radars and others.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that parties to the Ukraine peace talks in Minsk had agreed to cease fire at 00:00 on February 15.
