Ukrainian deputy premier, EU ambassador discuss preparations for signing association agreement

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov and Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski have discussed topical issues of EU-Ukraine relations, focusing on the consolidation of efforts of the Ukrainian authorities aimed at preparing for the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU in November.

Arbuzov noted Ukraine's readiness to take all the necessary steps for the implementation of the association with the EU, which is the country's strategic goal, the first deputy premier's press service reported.

"They noted that the coming months will be decisive in this respect, and will require political will and continuous work from Ukraine for the signing of the agreement and its subsequent successful implementation," the report says.

Arbuzov said that Ukraine had been consistent in its intentions and expressed the hope for constructive cooperation of all the political forces of the country in the realization of its plans of eventually getting the EU membership.
