Tomenko: we refused to nominate candidate for deputy parliamentary speaker post to control greater number of committees

Batkivschyna United Opposition MP Mykola Tomenko has said Batkivschyna's refusal to nominate a candidate for the post of deputy parliamentary speaker was motivated by a desire to control a greater number of parliamentary committees.

"We supported a candidacy of Svoboda [party] Ruslan Koshulynsky to hold the post of deputy chairman, because Svoboda think that it is more important for it to have a representative in the parliamentary presidium. For us it's more important to have two committees more to control state power," he told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.
