Vote results in some constituencies should be declared invalid, repeat vote held, says CEC deputy head

The Central Election Commission of Ukraine (CEC) should declare invalid election results in a number of constituencies and call a repeated polling, CEC Deputy Head Zhanna Usenko-Chorna has said.

"We should stick to the constitution, declare completely invalid [some] election results, and decide on a repeat vote in such constituencies, because now it is impossible to calculate the results according to the distorted vote count protocols and ballots that were corrected by Berkut [a special police force] last night," she told journalists on Friday.

"There is a couple of dozen such constituencies," she said, and mentioned constituencies No. 11, 14, 197, 223.

She added that the CEC should calculate election results from the constituencies that send undamaged packages of documents.

Usenko-Chorna added that the problem constituencies have not sent their documents to the CEC.

"We will respond when we receive them," she said.
