An airplane carrying Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili back to Tbilisi on Thursday evening returned to Bucharest's airport 15 minutes after takeoff for technical reasons, the Rustavi-2 television station reported.

The jet is being examined at the moment, it said.

The Georgian presidential administration confirmed the report.
