Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in New York to present him with the Ukraine Victory Plan.

"There are many challenges in Ukraine, in the United States now. Of course, I want to discuss with you where we are together. I think we have a common view that the war in Ukraine has to be stopped, and Putin cannot win. And Ukraine has to prevail. And I want to discuss with you the details about that," Zelenskyy addressed Trump at the beginning of the meeting.

According to the head of the Ukrainian state, he decided to meet with Trump because "it is very important to share all the plans, all our steps, how we can strengthen Ukraine." Zelenskyy added that this must be decided now, because after November "only America will decide who will be the president", but before that time "we can't stop Putin."

"We have to do this. We will try to do this on the battlefield together with our heroic soldiers. We understand that after November we will have to decide. And we hope that the United States will be very strong, and we are counting on it," Zelenskyy said.

"That is why I decided to meet with both candidates [for the U.S. president]," the head of the Ukrainian state said.
