Metinvest pays over UAH 2.5 bln in taxes to Ukraine's budget in Q1

In January-March of this year, Metinvest Mining and Metallurgical Group, including associated companies and joint ventures, transferred more than UAH 2.5 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine.

Amid Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest remains a pillar of the country's economy, according to a company press release on Wednesday.

Ukrainian enterprises of Metinvest paid about UAH 725 million of a single social contribution, more than UAH 649 million in personal income tax and about UAH 442 million in income tax in January-March this year.

Other significant contributions to the country's state and local budgets included land fees of over UAH 288 million, subsoil use fees of around UAH 174 million, and environmental tax of almost UAH 136 million.

CEO of Metinvest Yuriy Ryzhenkov said that Ukrainians are not quitters.

"That's why Metinvest's businesses continue to contribute significantly to Ukraine's treasury in the most difficult wartime conditions, under the constant threat of enemy shelling. Despite the loss of control over the Mariupol steelworks, the blockade of ports and other negative factors for the industry, we remain resilient. We understand that business must work for victory and then for the recovery of Ukraine. All as one, because we have one country," the top manager said, quoted by the press service.
