Dragon Capital continues holding over 24% of Ukrainian Exchange – company head

Dragon Capital owns 24.788% of shares in Ukrainian Exchange (Kyiv), company CEO Tomas Fiala has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The recent deal with the exchange's shares was an operation inside the group. We did not sell the securities and do not intend to sell our stake in Ukrainian Exchange," he said.

As reported, Moscow Exchange (Russia) in 2016 left Ukrainian Exchange as a shareholder. In early February Dragon Capital s.r.o. (the Czech Republic) bought 4,997 shares of Ukrainian Exchange (19.988% of securities) from it, after which on March 9 Univer Capital investment group bought out the remaining 23% of Ukrainian Exchange in the ownership of Moscow Exchange. In particular, Univer Capital bought 100% of the shares of the Ukrainian Exchange Holding, which owned 20.64% of Ukrainian Exchange shares and about 3% of the exchange directly.

In early 2017, the group increased its stake in the exchange to 24.788%.

However, in early July 2018 Dragon Capital s.r.o. notified Ukrainian Exchange about the reduction of its stake to 9.992%.

Ukrainian Exchange was founded on May 15, 2008 by the leading members of the Ukrainian securities market together with Russia's RTS stock exchange.
