Deflation in Ukraine comes to 0.2% in June

Consumer prices in Ukraine in June 2016 fell by 0.2%, after rising by 0.1% in May and 3.5% in April, the State Statistics Service has said.

According to its data, this slowed inflation in annual terms (compared to the same month last year) to 6.9% from 7.5% in May, 9.8% in April and 20.9% in March.

Since the beginning of this year consumer prices in Ukraine have increased by 4.9%, while in general in January-June 2016 from January-June 2015 by 18.1%, the service said.

As reported, the government and the National Bank of Ukraine forecast slowdown in inflation to around 12% with the growth of economy being about 1% in 2016.
