Rozenko informs Tombinski on resumption of payments to 80,000 IDPs

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko and Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski have discussed social protection of internally displaced persons (IDPs), in particular, verification of social payments.

"Several months ago we jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the State Border Service launched verification of provision of social payments to people who are registered as IPDs, but really live on the territory that is not under control of the Ukrainian government," Rozenko said.

He said that under Ukrainian legislation social payments, including pensions, are paid only to those citizens who moved to the areas under control of Ukrainian authorities.

Rozenko said that the SBU handed lists with around 450,000 people suspected of not living in Ukraine-controlled territory to local authorities.

"Around 80,000 of 450,000 today have confirmed that they live on the territory under control of Ukrainian authorities. All payments have been resumed in full to them," Rozenko said.

As for Ukrainian citizens who are living on the occupied territories, he said that all their pensions are deposited. The pensions will be paid in full as soon as they move to Ukraine-controlled areas

Rozenko and Tombinski also discussed integration of IDPs and provision of humanitarian aid to people who cannot leave the occupied areas.
