UIA gets two more medium-range Boeing aircraft, bringing their number to 35

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv), the largest airline in the country, has expanded the fleet with two Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft.

According to the press service of the airline, this expansion is foreseen in the program of extending and upgrading the fleet and the airplanes were received from one of the largest aircraft lessors - AerCap. The aircraft passed registration procedures in Ukraine, getting registration numbers UR-PSO and UR-PSP. Thus, at the moment the UIA fleet consists of 35 aircraft, including 30 Boeings, in particular 16 NG (next generation) models.

"We continue to implement the plan of development for 2016. The first aircraft from AerCap - UR-PSO – performed its first flight Kyiv-Antalya on May 5, the second one - UR-PSP, was put into commercial operation on the Kyiv-Kharkiv route on May 16. The implementation of these two deliveries is a very important step for the UIA, and we look forward to continuing work with AerCap to renew and expand our fleet. As a whole, during the current year the UIA will acquire another five planes, increasing the B737-800 aircraft fleet by nine in 2016," the head of the UIA aircraft fleet projects, Yevhen Churiumov, said.
