Naftogaz Ukraine bought 2.3 billion cubic meters of gas from Gazprom in the period between October 12 and November 11.

According to Ukrtransgaz, Ukraine imported 1.99 billion cubic meters of Russian gas on October 12-31 and 0.33 billion cubic meters of Russian gas on November 1-11.

In the first seven days of November, Ukraine took some 40 million cubic meters of Russian gas a day. In the subsequent days of November, the import sharply went down, reaching 2.8 million cubic meters on November 11.

Maksym Beliavsky, the head of the public relations and press liaison department at Ukrtransgaz, told Interfax-Ukraine that the tentative request for November 13 envisages the supply of 5 million cubic meters of Russian gas to Ukraine.

The import of gas from Slovakia, according to Eustream, varied from 12.6 million to 22.6 million cubic meters a day in the first nine days and reached 27-28 million cubic meters a day on November 10-11.

The gas reserves in Ukraine's underground storage facilities reached 16.925 billion cubic meters on November 11. On November 9-11, the amount of gas taken from the underground storage facilities reached 20-27 million cubic meters a day, whereas it did not exceed 10.5 million cubic meters a day on November 1-8.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said on November 10 that Naftogaz Ukrainy had reduced the amount of Russian gas purchased by it to 10 million cubic meters of gas a day and the prepayment made to Gazprom for gas would last for four days with such takeout levels.

Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev, for his part, said Ukraine intends to buy Russian gas according to its needs.

Kobolev previously said Naftogaz had started buying gas from Europe at more attractive prices than the Russian prices and the company will balance the gas purchased between Europe and Russia to form an optimal portfolio.
