Arrest of Roshen Lipetsk factory property recognized as legal
The Moscow City Court has declared that the arrest of property worth RUR1.5 billion of Roshen Confectionery Corporation, owned by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, at OAO Lipetsk confectionery factory Roshen, was lawful
According to an Interfax correspondent, the appeal of lawyer Maksym Krupsky representing the interests of Lipetsk confectionery factory was rejected and the resolution of Basmanny Court entered into force.
According to case materials, the arrested property includes the factory warehouses, several workshops and a land plot.
Krupsky insisted on the illegality of the seizure of the factory property and demanded that it be revoked
He said that the seized assets are disproportionate to the damage caused.
"The imputed damage is RUR181 million, however property worth RUR1.5 billion was arrested, which exceeds the amount of damage by almost eight times," he said.
Krupsky stressed that investigators have no evidence that the property was obtained from criminal activity.
"Roshen is neither the accused nor a suspect in the case and cannot be as a legal entity. The case was opened against unknown persons," he said
