Ostchem denies Interior Ministry's accusations against its managers

Dmytro Firtash's Ostchem holding believes that accusations against its managers which were published by Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov on his Facebook page on Thursday are groundless.

"Almost all the debts of Ostchem's enterprises to Naftogaz Ukrainy were formed in the period before Group DF bought the companies [2010-2011]. Any accusations against the current top managers of the enterprises are at least incorrect," Ostchem's press service said.

Ostchem also said that the debts of state enterprises to Ostchem group considerably exceed the debts of Ostchem's plants to state enterprises.

"In particular, state-run Odesa Port-Side Plant still owes over UAH 5 billion to Ostchem Group. Nevertheless, Ostchem does not take any measures to collect the debt, as it understands the financial and economic state of the country," the press service said.

Ostchem has also denied that it embezzled budget funds as the holding does not manage budget funds.

"We believe that the controversies between economic entities of various forms of ownership cannot be grounds for the public accusation of employees of Ostchem Group, only courts of Ukraine have the right to do this," the press service said.
