The provision of safety for any type of transport, and attracting transport flow to Ukraine to replenish the national budget, are the key aims of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine, First Deputy Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Shulmeister said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"[The budget] could be replenished via dividends paid by state companies, via taxes, via the creation of favorable conditions for investment. Jobs and conditions for development should be created with each investment. The task I face is provision of safety, which consists of two types: safety of transport and transport security," he said.

Shulmeister said that the second issue has not been worked out and the ministry will focus on it.

"This is that requires large attention and investment – antiterrorist measures and everything that was not developed enough," he added.

He added that the political situation in the country illustrates that it is time to ensure security, and that there is a need to create a division which will be responsible for this.

"Secondly, it is embezzlement of state funds. Fighting corruption is one of the key factors in this task," Shulmeister said.

As for the tasks aimed at replenishing the budget, he said that fighting corruption is the main factor.

"How can we do this? We could draw up laws, create systems which will help in minimizing corruption," he said.
