Nova Poshta denies accusations of intentional parcel delays to Ukraine east
Nova Poshta, one of the largest players on the Ukrainian market for express delivery of documents, parcels and freight, has denied claims there are delays of deliveries of international parcels to the east of Ukraine, reads a press release from the company read out before the company's press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
"Recently there were reports that we delay cargos that go on the territory of the eastern Ukraine, and this allegedly favors actions of separatists. Such statements don't respond the reality and are quite slanderous," a press release quotes Nova Poshta Director General Viacheslav Klimov as saying.
The company also added that for last three months about three million parcels were delivered to the east.
According to the mail operator, there are 184 offices of Nova Poshta in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Moreover, Klimov at the press conference hosted by Interfax-Ukraine said that Nova Poshta would continue to work in the Republic of Crimea and deliver parcels on the peninsula and back.
He said that technologically the delivery to the peninsula became complicated "since now it is necessary to pass through two customs." Besides, a legal field for business in Crimea hasn't been determined yet.
"I want to declare that Nova Poshta will work in Crimea even if it only has one client here," the director said.
As of now 43 offices of Nova Poshta work on the peninsula.
Currently, Nova Poshta includes 1,437 outlets throughout Ukraine in 688 settlements, sends five million parcels a month.
