The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution on signing an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Serbian government on cooperation in the field of rail transport.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Kozak said that the implementation of the provisions of the proposed agreement would help improve the legal and contractual framework of Ukrainian-Serbian cooperation in the field of rail transport between the two countries, the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry reported on Monday.

The agreement will help attract additional cargo in order to more fully use the potential of transport infrastructure of both countries.

"In addition, the signing of the agreement will help improve cargo transportation between Ukraine and Serbia and therefore raise the safety standards of rail traffic between the two countries," reads the statement.

Kozak was authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of Ukraine.
