Bubka continues to lead polls on future IOC head conducted by Western sport Web sites

President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka continues to lead polls conducted by Western sports Web sites to decide who should become the next president for the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Bubka won 46.9% of the votes of the insidethegames.biz Web site visitors and was followed by President of the International Boxing Association Ching-Kuo Wu (27.7%), Chair of the IOC finance department Richard Carrion (17%), President of the International Rowing Federation Denis Oswald (3.9%), President of the German National Olympic Committee and IOC Vice-President Thomas Bach (2.9%), and IOC Vice-President from Singapore Ng Ser Miang (1.5%). A total of 2.057 people have taken part in the poll as of today.

Meanwhile, 38.2% visitors of jensweinreich.de supported Bubka's candidacy, while Oswald gained 18.8%, Bach – 17.7%, Ng Ser Miang – 10.3%, Carrion – 9.1%, Ching-Kuo Wu – 5.9%. A total of 1.178 visitors have taken part in the poll.

In the same poll conducted by aroundtherings.com, Bubka came second with 29.08% following Ching-Kuo Wu with 44.24%. The other candidates were behind the leaders with a wide margin.

As reported, in late July Bubka had a strong lead in a poll conducted by the British magazine SportsPro.

The election of new IOC president is scheduled for September 10, 2013 in Buenos Aires.
