A wide range of issues on the general agenda were substantively discussed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron during a telephone conversation.

According to the presidential press service, the head of state thanked Macron for France's comprehensive support for Ukraine, particularly for the recent defense assistance package.

"It is important that all our agreements on strengthening defense support from France are being implemented. I really appreciate it," Zelenskyy said.

The leaders discussed the situation on the battlefield and the most urgent needs of Ukrainian defenders, primarily in terms of strengthening air defense, long-range weapons, and increasing Ukraine's naval capabilities. They also exchanged views on the functioning of the "grain corridor" and ways to enhance its protection.

In the context of discussing Ukraine's cooperation with the EU, Zelenskyy and Macron touched upon the issues of further macro-financial support for our country, in particular through the use of the Ukraine Facility new financial instrument. The Ukrainian president emphasized the importance of making a decision to launch negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

Special attention was paid to further steps to implement the Ukrainian Peace Formula. Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed about the preparation of the next meeting at the level of national security advisors and foreign policy advisors to the heads of state.

The presidents of Ukraine and France also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East. The leaders emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and the inadmissibility of escalating the security situation in the region.
