The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) on April 29-30 will hold information sessions on first aid and mine safety in the National Botanical Garden in Kyiv.

"The Kyiv city organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society together with the Hryshko National Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is holding the information campaign "You Are Not Alone – We Are Near!"… The main goal of the event is to teach people safe behavior with mines, first aid skills, mental health care, as well as safe behavior with animals," the URCS said on its website.

Everyone can obtain useful knowledge at various locations of the central alley of the Botanical Garden. Residents and guests of Kyiv will be able to learn how to provide first aid for injuries and bleeding, master cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the skills of transporting the victim.

The mine hazard session will teach you how to recognize an explosive object and what to do if it is found.

The First Aid for Children information session will teach kids how to help themselves and others if necessary. At the Animals and Safety session, prepared jointly with the New Revival of Ukraine charitable foundation, volunteers will tell children and adults about the safe handling of pets.

The Psychosocial Support of the Population location will host events with elements of creativity, where you can learn how to maintain mental health.

The program also includes animators, a face painting and moving exercise area, a bubble show and a win-win lottery.
