Ukrainian IT project distribution has large potential for development – MTI

The Ukrainian IT project distribution is slightly developed and has a large potential for development, Managing Director of IT distribution division of MTI Borys Beliansky has said.

"A few years ago we began to pay more attention to the project business and now we can say that this has become our strategic direction, where we have achieved success. The market is very large. The country, unfortunately, does not use the entire potential of IT, while it is large in projects and the solutions. This is a broad field for the activities of both integrators and distributors," he told reporters on Wednesday.

In addition, Commercial Director of the MTI IT distribution division Serhiy Yakovlev said that the SaaS trend in the Ukrainian market is seen ("software as a service", the technology of selling and using software products, which assumes that customers are granted access to software via the Internet without the cost of installing, updating and support for the operation of servers and software).

"There is an interesting trend: SaaS sales began to appear on the market. A customer can stretch out his payments without investing in all equipment at once, but actually leasing and paying using regular payments. This is a financially sound thing when CAPEX costs are transferred to operating costs, and you can easily make them larger," he said.

In addition, Serhiy Kurylenko, manager of the department for the project distribution of the IT distribution division of MTI, said that the project distribution market is divided into five main components: the first - conventional distribution, the second - logistics, the third - the expertise, because the client does not come with the question that he needs something to sell, but with a task to be solved.

Kurylenko called the installation the fourth component - the work of engineers, and the last one - the servicing, both warranty and post-warranty.
