A bail has been made for Editor-in-Chief of the Strana.ua news portal Ihor Huzhva, his lawyer, ex-minister of justice of Ukraine Olena Lukash has said.

"Bail has been posted for Ihor Huzhva by Svitlana Kriukova (Huzhva's deputy). Ihor has been taken to Lukyanivka detention center. They took him there, being aware that he was bailed out," Lukash wrote on her Facebook page.

"We will wait for the confirmation from the treasury, and very soon Ihor will be at large," she added.

As earlier reported, Huzhva was arrested in Kyiv on Thursday, June 22, 2017. On June 24, Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District Court chose a preventive measure for Huzhva and placed him in custody for two months with an option of a bail in the amount of UAH 544,000.
