Switzerland to introduce visa-free regime for Ukrainians together with EU on June 11

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday discussed with Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter future cooperation and situation in Donbas, the press service of the head of state said.

"During the meeting, the two also noted the intention of both sides to further deepen bilateral cooperation, the Swiss foreign minister confirmed that his country will introduce the visa free regime for Ukrainian citizens together with the EU from June 11," the report reads.

Burkhalter and Poroshenko also discussed the ways to speed up the return of frozen assets of former Ukrainian top officials, which are kept in Swiss banks, to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president told the Swiss foreign minister in detail about the consequences of Russia's continuing aggression in Donbas, and also thanked the Swiss side for their contribution to the settlement process.

According to the report, Poroshenko extended his invitation to the president of Switzerland to visit Ukraine.
