Poroshenko to offer Storch for NABU audit commission on president's quota – MP Nayem

People's deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction Mustafa Nayem has said that Robert Storch, supported by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, will be offered to the external control committee of an independent assessment (audit) of the effectiveness of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on his quota.

"Robert Storch will be proposed by Petro Poroshenko to the commission on audit on the president's quota, which will be announced in advance after the meeting of the president with the ambassadors of the Group of Seven (G7)," Nayem wrote on his Facebook page.

Earlier on Tuesday, March 21, at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, people's deputies of Ukraine could not delegate Nigel Brown on their quota to the Audit Commission of the NABU. Some 200 parliamentarians voted for him with the required minimum of 226 MPs.

Before that, the speaker of the parliament, Andriy Parubiy, had passed a nominee rating of both Brown and the second candidate, Robert Storch, to a rating vote. During the rating vote, the first candidate received more votes, after which he was nominated for voting for approval by the independent auditor of the NABU.

In turn, a number of public organizations offered the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the candidatures of Martha Boersch, Carlos Castresana and Giovanni Kessler to the Audit Commission for the activities of the NABU to approve by the government quota.
