Poroshenko unhappy with press freedom in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he is dissatisfied with the situation with the level of media freedom in the country, but does not believe it is possible for him to interfere in the conflict involving the television channel Inter.

"Am I satisfied with the situation with the press in Ukraine? No. And such things should not happen, it's not the president's job to interfere in the situation with Inter television," he said at the 13th annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy "The World, Europe and Ukraine: Storms of Change" in Kyiv on Friday morning, responding to a question about the attack on the studio producing content for Inter television in Kyiv in early September.
