Court refuses claim against UIA on repaying UAH 145 mln debt to Boryspil airport
The Kyiv Economic Court has refused the prosecutor's office of Kyiv region the satisfaction of a lawsuit against Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) to recover a debt from the air carrier to Boryspil airport for ground service, the relevant conclusion of the court dated October 27, 2014 has been posted in the register of judgments.
According to its data, initially the prosecutor's office of Kyiv region in the interest of the Infrastructure Ministry and Boryspil airport sent a lawsuit with the requirement to repay the debt to the airport in the amount of UAH 24.1 million, but eventually in the course of proceedings the amount was adjusted to UAH 145.3 million.
The Kyiv Economic Court, in turn, established that the debt was calculated incorrectly, because despite the fact that there are agreements signed between Boryspil and UIA providing discounts on airport charges, the airport did not apply these discounts.
In this regard, the court refused to satisfy the claim against UIA.
