The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on March 12 appointed Ihor Bilous head of the State Tax Service, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Pavlo Sheremeta has told reporters.

Bilous is the head of the investment banking department of Renaissance Capital investment company in Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe, the co-director of the Kyiv regional office. Previously he worked at UBS investment bank, at which he headed the Ukrainian business.

Bilous worked on many landmark transactions with Ukrainian assets, including Mittal Steel's acquiring a 93.02% stake in Kryvorizhstal, the sale of a 51% stake in UkrSibbank to France's BNP Paribas, the sale of a 60% stake in Bank Forum to Germany's Commerzbank, an IPO of Myronivsky Hliboproduct and a number of placements of Ukrainian issuers' eurobonds.

Prior to joining UBS in 2005, Bilous worked at SARS Capital, a Kyiv investment company specializing in M&A transactions.
