Azarov's spokesman: Integration processes in Ukraine and Russia have no effect on situation with passage of Ukrainian goods

Complications with the clearance of Ukrainian goods through Russian customs checkpoints have nothing to do with integration processes in Ukraine and Russia, Vitaliy Lukianenko, spokesman for Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, has said.

"Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had a phone conversation on Sunday. The premiers unanimously noted that complications during the customs clearance of Ukrainian goods are in no way related to integration processes in both countries," he told Interfax-Ukraine.

Kremlin advisor Sergei Glazyev said a few days ago that checks of cargo on the Russian-Ukrainian border, which led to problems, were an on-off occurrence. But if Ukraine signs an association agreement with the European Union the customs control could again be tightened, he said.
