Yefremov: Parliament to work on Tuesday and then meet to consider draft budget for 2013

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, will hold a meeting on Tuesday and next time it will meet to consider the draft state budget for 2013, the leader of the Party of Regions faction in parliament, Oleksandr Yefremov, has said.

"Today [the parliament will work] until the end of the agenda, and next time we will meet after the Cabinet of Ministers submits the draft budget for consideration by parliament," he said at a briefing on Tuesday.

He said that if the draft budget is submitted, the parliament would convene to hear the presentation of the budget, "and then some time, a few days, will be needed to consider it at a meeting of the [budget] committee."

"If the Cabinet of Ministers submits this bill next week at the latest, it could be considered by the current parliament," Yefremov said.

The parliament earlier planned to hold meetings from November 6 to November 9.

The Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation should hold its first meeting no later than December 17.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that the government would table the draft state budget for 2013 in parliament on November 20.
