Poroshenko discusses security issues, strengthening global support for Ukraine

MP of Ukraine, leader of European Solidarity Petro Poroshenko held a meeting in Canada with President of the International Democracy Union (IDU) Stephen Harper and member of the Senate of Canada Leo Housakos, the website of the political force reports.

"When security challenges are becoming increasingly acute, it is vital for us to act as a single coordinated front with our Western allies and the entire democratic world. The International Democracy Union unites parties from more than 60 countries. Therefore, I consider it fundamentally important to use this global political family in order to advance the political and security interests of our state," Poroshenko noted on social networks.

The leader of European Solidarity reported that approaches to the issue of increasing military aid to Ukraine and sanctions pressure on the Russian aggressor and its allies, prospects for joining the European Union and inviting our country to NATO membership were agreed upon, special attention was paid to the strategy of interaction with the new American administration.

"We will continue our joint work at the Summit of the International Democracy Union in Washington in a few days," Petro Poroshenko summed up.

The European Solidarity Party received the status of Observer Member in the IDU in July 2020. Leader of the European Solidarity Party Petro Poroshenko became a member of the Honorary Advisory Board of the International Democracy Union (IDU) in September 2023.
