Ukrtelecom hopes to increase tariffs by 14% in Nov

PJSC Ukrtelecom has applied to the National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) asking to allow the increase of the upper tariffs for fixed-line telephony by 14% from November 1, 2018.

"We applied to the regulator, asking to consider the increase of the upper tariffs. This could happen in autumn, maybe in November. Our spending is growing, and there are preconditions for the increase," Ukrtelecom Corporate Relations Director Mykhailo Shuranov said.

He said that on average the operator asked the regulator to raise the upper tariffs for fixed-line telephony by 14% from November 1, 2018 and by another 10% from January 2019.

According to him, the reason for the need to increase tariffs is the growth of the cost of communication in rural areas.

He also said that now the most expensive tariff of Ukrtelecom is about UAH 73.

Shuranov said that for subscribers it is a matter of increasing the subscription fee by only a few hryvnia.
