Stable rating of Fitch for Ukraine is a signal to invest - Fuks

The long-term rating of Ukraine at the level of "B-" with a stable outlook, which was confirmed by the international rating agency Fitch, is a signal for investment.

This was reported by the Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Pavel Fuks in Telegram.

Just as Pavel Fuks said, Fitch Ratings points to "stabilization of Ukraine's political course and adequate forecast of payments on public debt, as well as progress in the field of reforms."

As the businessman notes, this Fitch decision gives a signal to investors that "it is possible and necessary to invest money in Ukraine".

"Among the risks that always exist are: fragmented political forces, the growth of populism and a slow recovery after a deep crisis", says Pavel Fuks.

According to Fitch, Ukraine's international reserves reached $18.2 billion in March 2018, as government debt repayment was partially mitigated by increased export earnings and capital inflows.

External buffers of Ukraine remain weaker than "B". Increased exchange rate flexibility, managed liabilities in foreign currencies and moderate external imbalances mitigate short-term pressure on international reserves. Foreign exchange funds continue to soften external liquidity, although they are still gradually weakening.

Note. Fitch Ratings is an American corporation, a rating agency. Fitch Ratings, along with Standard & Poor's and Moody's, is included in the “Big Three” of international rating agencies.

The main task is to provide the world credit markets with independent and future-oriented credit ratings, analytical studies and data.

Earlier, philanthropist and businessman Pavel Fuks before the start of the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korean Phenchkhan announced that he had decided to finance at his own expense the payment of additional $50,000 for Olympic gold, $25,000 - for silver, and $15,000 - for bronze. The same cash prize will be given to the winner's coach.

"Being a professional athlete is every second hard work. Representing the country at the Olympics is also a huge responsibility. With special emotions together with the whole Ukraine I will be rooting for our athletes who, I am sure, will do everything possible to make Ukrainian anthem sound as often as possible and the Ukrainian flag to be raised in Pyeongchang. I will be happy if my contribution becomes an additional motivation to win", Fuks said.

On March 13, Olympic champion Alexander Abramenko and his coach received certificates from Fuks for $50,000 each.
