NCER to increase wholesale market price of electricity by 1.8% from July

The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) from July 1, 2017 will increase wholesale market price of electricity by 1.8%, from UAH 1,341.57 per MWh in Q1 and Q2 2017 to UAH 1,365.72 per MWh (VAT not included).

The decision is outlined in commission resolution No. 337 dated March 23, 2017 posted on the regulator's website.

NCER Head Dmytro Vovk at the meeting of the commission on March 23 said that the commission could decide on the increase of the price by 1.8%, but the fact of the increase of the price was not announced at the meeting.

As reported, late April 2016 the NCER started applying the new methods to calculate the forecast wholesale price of electricity, taking into account the API2 index.

The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation regulates the activity of monopoly entities in the fields of energy, heating supply, central water supply and drainage, oil and gas industries, solid waste treatment, and implements state price and tariff setting policies in these sectors.
