Dnipropetrovsk regional administration expects UAH 1.2 bln from EIB for rebuilding social infrastructure
Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration expects to receive UAH 1.2 billion from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the reconstruction of 50 facilities of social infrastructure in the area.
"Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration uses all the ways to develop. Each European project is seen as an opportunity to improve the lives of people. Dnipropetrovsk region submitted 50 projects for financing by the European Investment Bank: modernization and reconstruction of schools, hospitals, water mains. The budget of these projects is UAH 1.2 billion," Dnipropetrovsk Region Governor Valentyn Reznichenko told reporters.
Projects for the EIB's Ukraine Early Recovery loan program were shortlisted from the entire region - both cities, towns, regions could participate. To help participants prepare all the documents for the projects properly, the regional administration engaged design and engineering firms, leaders on the market of housing and construction consulting, which analyzed each project and helped prepare necessary documentation.
Reznichenko said that among the submitted projects were the reconstruction of hospital No. 4 in the city of Dnipro, the surgical department building of Mechnikov regional hospital, hospitals of Rudnev specialized medical center for children and young mothers, the water supply system in Kamyanske and several dozens schools, kindergartens and other socially important facilities in cities, towns, and districts of the region.
The Ukraine Early Recovery loan focuses on investments in the Ukraine government-controlled Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the surrounding areas of Kharkiv, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. It will back undertakings to re-establish and improve public service delivery of water and sanitation, electricity, and heating. It also covers repairs to roads and railways and the reconstruction of destroyed bridges and the refurbishment of damaged public buildings, including administrative buildings, schools, health centers and hospitals, postal services, and other social infrastructure.
