Gas transit via Ukrainian gas transport system falls to 136 mln cubic meters on July 26
Transit of natural gas via Ukrainian gas transport system fell to 136 million cubic meters on July 26, and this is 30% down than average daily transit on July 1 through July 22 (around 190 million cubic meters a day), according to Ukrtransgaz's real-time data.
Transit started falling on July 23 when it was 172 million cubic meters and continued on July 24 and July 25 when it fell to 154-155 million cubic meters.
On July 26, 70 million cubic meters of transit gas was supplied to Europe via the Yuzhgorod gas metering station, 85 million cubic meters on July 25, 96 million cubic meters on July 24, 108 million cubic meters on July 23, 118 million cubic meters on July 22 and 123 million cubic meters on July 21.
In autumn 2014 and winter 2015 Gazprom used the tactics of restricting gas supplies to Europe across Ukraine, trying to deprive European players of the base for reverse supplies to Ukraine.
Ukraine in January-June 2016 increased natural gas transit to Europe and Moldova by 31% or 8.898 billion cubic meters year-over-year, to 37.621 billion cubic meters.
