Ukrainian real estate market could rebound by autumn 2016 - experts

A steady growth in sales in all the segments of the Ukrainian real estate market could start in the autumn of 2016, according to representatives of the Association of Realtors of Ukraine.

"If the national currency rate is stable, we expect recovery but not a rise in prices in the autumn of 2016. And the number of transactions in the real estate market will increase both in the primary and secondary segments," president of the association Serhiy Zlyden said at a press conference in Kyiv.

According to the deputy head of the statistics and analytics committee in the association, Denys Sedakov, the pace of sales of primary real estate objects in Ukraine showed growth last November and in the first quarter of 2016 remained stable.

"We feel the bottom was passed in September-October last year, and a positive trend has been observed since November, and I hope it will continue," the expert said.

At the same time, he noted there was not a sharp drop in sales of primary real estate in February 2016 as it had been observed during the last two years.

"There has not been such a trend this year. Sales in January, February and March were high," he added.

He said if there will be no sharp hryvnia fluctuations, prices for primary real estate will remain at the current level.
