SPF stops sale of shares in Dniproenergo, Donbasenergo, Odesa Port-Side Plant on stock exchanges suspends sale of Centrenergo shares

The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPF) has stopped the sale of 25% of shares in public joint-stock company DTEK Dniproenergo, 25% of shares in public joint-stock company Donbasenergo and 5% in public joint-stock company Odesa Port-Side Plant on stock exchanges and suspended the sale of 10% in public joint-stock company Centrenergo.

According to a report in the Vidomosti Pryvatyzatsii newspaper published on Wednesday, the decisions were made on December 8, 2014.

The announcements to sell the above-mentioned stakes in the companies were published on December 3 and the sale of the shares was scheduled for the last week of 2014.

A source in the government said that the SPF made the decision under an order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk stated at a cabinet meeting on December 9 that privatization will be conditional on price and the facilities’ appeal to foreign investors.

In addition, the cabinet action program approved includes the sale of stakes on international exchanges in 2016-2017.

As reported, the sale of 10% of shares in Centrenergo, the last heat generating company in which the state retains control, with the initial price of UAH 257.6 million or UAH 6.973 per share (face value UAH 1.30) was scheduled for December 24 on the Ukrainian interbank currency exchange.

A 5% stake in Odesa Port-Side Plant at the initial price of UAH 39.927 million or UAH 1 per share (the face value of UAH 1) were to be put up for sale on the Perspectiva stock exchange on December 24. It was planned to sell the controlling stake in the company in 2015.

A 25% stake in Donbasenergo and a 25% stake in Dniproenergo were put up for sale on the Eastern-European Stock Exchange on December 25 and on the Ukrainian interbank currency exchange on December 30 respectively. The initial price of the stakes is UAH 281.939 million or UAH 47.70 per share (the face value of UAH 10) and UAH 1.23 billion or UAH 824.40 per share (the face value of UAH 25) respectively.
