Ukrsotsbank suspends operation of three departments in Mariupol, one in Donetsk

Ukrsotsbank (Kyiv), which is among the largest banks in Ukraine, has suspended operation of three departments in Mariupol and one in Donetsk, the bank has reported on its Web site on Tuesday, May 13.

"The operation of three departments in Mariupol located at 44, USSR 50th Anniversary Street, 102, 130th Taganrog Division Street and 89/22, Budivelnykiv Street and a department in Donetsk located at 45, Dzerzhynskoho Street has been temporarily suspended," reads the report.

In addition, two departments of the bank in Donetsk and one each in Horlivka and Kramatorsk, two in Luhansk and one in Sloviansk are still closed.

The operation of the departments will be resumed after normalization of the situation in the region.

The regional chain of Ukrsotsbank in Ukraine includes 399 departments, including 41 in Donetsk region and 16 in Luhansk region.

As reported, in December 2013, UniCredit finished the integration of its Ukrainian assets, uniting Ukrsotsbank and UniCredit Bank.

Ukrsotsbank was founded in 1990. As of April 2014, UniCredit Bank Austria AG held 36.9041% in Ukrsotsbank, private joint-stock company Ferrotrade International 35.5811% and UniCredit S.p.A held 26.479%.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of April 1, 2014, Ukrsotsbank ranked sixth in terms of overall assets with UAH 46.124 billion among 181 banks operating in Ukraine.
