Agriculture ministry hopes supplies of Roshen goods to Russia will resume by late 2013

First Deputy Agricultural Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Ivan Bisiuk said that he hopes that supplies of products of Roshen confectionary corporation to Russia will resume by the end of this year.
"We hope that we'll have positive changes in the issue," he told reporters on Wednesday in Kyiv, when asked if supplies of Roshen goods to Russia could be resumed by late 2013.
Bisiuk said that the issue is being worked on: Ukraine has sent all the required materials to its Russian partners and now Ukraine is waiting for the arrival of inspectors.
As reported, Rospotrebnadzor recently said that the Ukrainian confectionery company Roshen would be cleared to export candies and chocolates to the Russian market
The Russian sanitary service said that the issue of quality and safety of products of Roshen Corporation was discussed as a part of the memorandum of understanding signed by Rospotrebnadzor and the State Inspectorate for Protection of Consumer rights of Ukraine on cooperation in protection of consumer rights in September 2012.
In July this year, Rospotrebnadzor banned the supply to Russia of chocolate and sweets made at four Ukrainian factories of Roshen because of complaints about the quality of produce. Roshen is owned by Petro Poroshenko, a leading independent politician in Ukraine.
Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk on November 27 said that Ukraine has not officially received documents on complaints about Ukrainian goods and on the conditions for the return of the goods to the Russian market.
