Foreign Minister of Ukraine and OSCE Chairman Leonid Kozhara has gone to Moldova and Transdniestria on a two-day working visit, according to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

Kozhara will meet with the president, chairman of the parliament, and prime minister of Moldova, as well as ambassadors accredited in Chisinau, and representatives of the OSCE Mission to Moldova.

The minister will also visit Transdniestria to meet with its leader Yevgeny Shevchuk.

"The Republic of Moldova is the first foreign state to be visited by OSCE Chairman Kozhara since the official inauguration of Ukraine as the OSCE chair at a meeting of the organization's standing council in Vienna on January 17, 2013," the ministry said.

The statement also reads that during the meetings the sides will discuss important issues connected with Ukraine-Moldova relations, as well as the situation with the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict.

"In particular, the sides will share their opinions regarding the preparations for the next round of negotiations in the 5+2 format scheduled for the second half of February in Lviv," the ministry said.

As reported, the settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict is a priority task during Ukraine's chairmanship for the OSCE in 2013.
