Parliament introduces tax on sale of securities and deals with derivatives

The Verkhovna Rada has introduced a special tax on transactions on the sale of securities and transactions with derivatives.

A total of 234 lawmakers supported on Thursday draft law No. 11285 on the further improvement of tax administration.

The document, in particular, proposes the introduction of a special tax on transactions with the transfer of securities, and transactions with derivatives: a zero rate for transactions on stock exchanges, 0.1% for transactions on the off-exchange market with securities on stock exchange lists, and 3% for transactions on the off-exchange market.

In addition, the draft laws foresee a reduction of the tax on profit from transactions with securities from 20% to 10%.

The head of the profile parliamentary committee Vitaliy Khomutynnik, said before the voting that the document took into account 61 amendments out of 136 proposed ones.

The parliament also passed government's draft law No. 11284 on amendments to some Ukrainian laws on the further improvement of tax administration.

Some 232 lawmakers supported the document.
