The Kharkiv garrison of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations in the Kharkiv region, thanks to the assistance of a businessman and philanthropist Pavel Fuks, received two new fire and rescue vehicles based on Renault K440 6X6.

This was announced by the Head of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region Olexandr Volobuyev, during the handing over the cars to the rescuers.

“On behalf of the Kharkiv region rescuers, I want to thank Pavel Yakovlevich for his assistance in obtaining the equipment that we need to carry out combat missions. And I am sure that only together we can bring our victory sooner”, he said.

He also mentioned that the cars were handed over by the German friends of Ukraine, with whom Pavel Fuks negotiated and convinced them to support Kharkiv. The cars are equipped with modern hydraulic, electric, pneumatic emergency equipment, as well as means of lighting and stabilizing emergency objects, stretchers for carrying injured people and other necessary tools.

The cost of one car is about 500 thousand EUR.

The new equipment will increase the effectiveness of rescuers, which is especially important during the war, when Russian occupiers destroy critical infrastructure and kill civilians.

Olexandr Volobuyev also added that since the beginning of the war, rescuers of the region have carried out more than 8.5 thousand trips to provide assistance to people and extinguish fires, neutralized more than 51,000 explosive objects, carried out more than 300 search and rescue operations to remove the rubble of buildings damaged by enemy shelling.

In total, more than 300 people were rescued from the rubble, and about 200 people were rescued from the fires.

Pavel Fuks also purchased modern fire helmets, masks and special shoes made by Michelin for Kharkiv firefighters.

Since the beginning of full-scale hostilities in Ukraine, Pavel Fuks directed his efforts to help Ukrainians who found themselves in the most difficult situation – residents of Kharkiv, the region, front-line zones and settlers.

According to the businessman's press service, as of early December, Pavel Fuks sent about $8 million to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Territorial Defense Forces, the National Guard of Ukraine and to help the families of the dead and injured Ukrainian soldiers.

Earlier, Pavel Fuks bought two X-ray diagnostic complexes for doctors in Kharkiv for UAH 13.4 million and donated UAH 2.7 million to the families of officers and cadets of the Kharkiv National Air Force University named after Ivan Kozhedub, who died in a plane crash near Chuguiv, Kharkiv region.
