Zelenskyy on Polish farmers' blockade: News from border seems outright mocking; joint decisions, clear justice needed

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the situation with Polish farmers blocking the border lies on the political plane, however, the parties need joint decisions and the search for a fair solution.

"Things that are happening on our western border, the border with Poland, cannot be considered normal or ordinary. A simple and clear justice is needed. Only 5% of our agricultural exports pass through the Polish border. So in reality, the situation is not about grain, but rather about politics," he said in an evening video address.

So, in his words, in comparison with "Kupyansk, close to the Russian border, where enemy artillery does not cease, news from the border with Poland seems outright mocking."

The head of state stated the need to find a solution to this situation.

"We need common decisions, rational decisions, to resolve this situation. The decisions made by us and the Poles, first of all, and by everyone in Europe who cares about the fate of Europe," he said.

As reported, Polish farmers announced the beginning of a complete blockade of the border from February 20, including blocking of automobile checkpoints, approaches to railway tracks and exits to ports.
