France, Germany launch coalition to support Ukrainian air defense within Ramstein

France and Germany launched a coalition in Brussels to support Ukrainian air defense within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

"Following the launch of the artillery coalition, today we, together with Boris Pistorius, are launching an air defense support coalition for Ukraine," French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu wrote in X.

According to the French Defense Ministry, today at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Minister Lecornu, together with German Defense Minister Pistius, launched a coalition in support of the air defense of Ukraine, which was joined by Danish and Belgian colleagues.

The German Ministry of Defense said the declaration signed today increases the effectiveness of air defense support and is intended to facilitate procurement.

As reported, on November 22, within the framework of the 17th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), a new coalition of Ground-Based Air Defense was formed. Thus, 20 countries joined it, the leaders being Germany and France.
