Ukrainian forces continue their offensive near Kreminna on Thurs, invaders attack in Bakhmut area – ISW
Ukrainian forces have resumed counter-offensive operations in the area of Kreminna, Luhansk region, according to a report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for January 26, citing Russian sources.
It is also reported that Russian forces continued ground attacks in the area of Bakhmut, on the western outskirts of Donetsk and in the area of Vuhledar, Donetsk region.
At the same time, analysts note that the private military company Wagner probably suffered significant losses in offensive attrition operations in eastern Ukraine over the past few months.
“Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces in Zaporizhia region are not conducting offensive operations at the size or scale necessary for a full-scale offensive. Russian milbloggers claimed that Russian forces continued to conduct limited and localized ground attacks in Zaporizhia region,” the report says.
According to ISW, the Russian occupation administration continues to seize property and close churches of Ukrainian evangelical Baptist Christian communities in the occupied areas of Zaporizhia region in an attempt to make the Kremlin-affiliated Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate the dominant denomination in the region.
