MP Rozenblat declared victim in case on provoking bribery by NABU employees

The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has recognized Ukrainian MP Boryslav Rozenblat as a victim in criminal proceedings of employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) who entrapped him into taking a bribe.

"The Pechersky District Court has granted the lawyer's complaint and cancelled the investigator's decision to refuse to recognize Rozenblat as a victim in the case investigated by the Prosecutor General's Office," the MP's lawyer, Oleksiy Shevchuk, told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday, April 11.

According to the lawyer, Rozenblat is recognized as a victim in the case on the provoking of a bribe by NABU employees. The case is being investigated by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.

Shevchuk stressed that current legislation does not give NABU detectives the right to provoke the giving of undue benefits.

Later, a number of media outlets, referring to a source in the NABU, reported that the bribe for which the guard was detained, was intended for two parliamentarians, including People's Front MP Maksym Poliakov.
