Law enforcement officers of Lithuania and Italy ready to train Ukrainian policemen

Within the framework of the United Nations Chiefs of Police summit, representatives of the police law enforcement agencies of Lithuania and Italy have offered their assistance in training Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine said on Friday.

In the course of meetings with Ukrainian counterparts Deputy Police Commissioner General of Lithuania Donatas Malaskevicius said that they were ready to receive a group of Ukrainian law enforcement experts, who will study the system of work of district police officers in Lithuania and will exchange experience and information technologies used in police work.

Italian Carabinieri Deputy Commanding Lieutenant General Antonio Ricciardi assured that the Italian side is ready to conduct training for police to combat organized crime and for policemen dealing with civil matters.

The Interior Ministry of Ukraine said that Ukrainian delegates were scheduled to meet with representatives of Lithuania, Italy, Canada, Norway and Australia, where they will discuss the establishment and continuation of cooperation in reforming the Interior Ministry and Police of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian delegation was represented by Deputy Head of the National Police Oleksiy Rudenko and Director of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of Ukrainian Interior Ministry Meri Akopyan.
