Ukrainian premier orders weekly monitoring of payment of salaries to civil servants
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has instructed the Social Policy Ministry to conduct weekly monitoring of payment of wages and social assistance to government employees.
"I also demand that the Social Policy Ministry should introduce weekly monitoring of payment of wages and social assistance and regularly report to the government about the state of affairs. Our agenda should no longer have an issue of wage debts," he said opening a government meeting on Thursday.
Azarov recalled that in 2012 there was a problem of wage arrears to public servants and the government provided additional UAH 3.3 billion to settle this issue.
"As of January 1, there is no debt, as we promised," the prime minister said.
